CoLogic's ACIS software
lab animal management software
CoLogic is a small software company whose sole product, an application called Animal Care Information System (ACIS), has become indispensable for large pharmaceutical companies worldwide including Eli Lilly, Astra Zeneca, and and Glaxo Smith Klein. CoLogic periodically attends trade shows to maintain industry awareness, and was seeking fresh promotional materials.
Using CoLogic's existing style sheet, logo, and info graphic, I built a new multi-page informational packet using the copy from their previous info packet but with a brighter, more modern look.
My role: Logo refresh and promotional material design.
About Cross x Checking
Created in 2006, Cross x Checking was a sole-proprietor editing service specializing in short stories and
non-fiction. Clients identify good value for cost and high level of service as positive elements of this business.
At the outset, CrossxChecking's low price point and personal tone attracted clients whose projects were small and independently funded, with necessarily low budgets as a result.
Over time, the business grew through word of mouth and today CrossxChecking is accepting non-fiction editing work for small businesses with larger budgets.
After sketching fifteen logo ideas, I selected the three best options, from which my client made her final choice.
The "X" symbol provides dual functions of providing an attractive reference to the business's purpose which can
later be used as a stand-alone icon, and it also stands in for the "X" in the businesses crossxchecking.com url and
email address to maintain continuity. The bright orange text was chosen to appear cheerful and catch the eye in crowded conventions.
We also worked on a new tagline to match the logo, and marketing materials which can be used at writers conventions and in other business and promotional settings.
